Shrinking makes top 10 streaming list for third week running
Shrinking is racking up a streak as one of the most popular shows on any streaming service. The Apple TV+ comedy starring Jason Segel and Harrison Ford sits on the top 10 list for a third week in a row.
The hilarious ongoing series is about a struggling therapist who throws out the psychological rulebook and tells his clients what he really thinks they should do.
Shrinking keeps drawing viewers
Apple TV+ is a long way from being the biggest streaming service but has nevertheless pulled out some very popular shows. They include Severance and Black Bird, and of course breakout hit Ted Lasso. Now you can add Shrinking to that list.
Movie and TV search engine Reelgood put the new Apple TV+ show at No. 5 on its list of Top 10 Movies & TV available from every streaming service during the week of Feb. 9 through Feb. 16. That makes it more popular than almost every other series available through streaming.
There are so many shows and films available that trying the ones that loads of other people are watching can be a solid way to find the best new content on Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Video and Apple TV+.
Don’t miss out on the fun
Shrinking was created by two of the writers of the mega-hit Ted Lasso. And the fact that screen legend Harrison Ford is in the cast surely helps draw attention to the show.
But the primary star is Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Sex Tape), who plays a grieving therapist who ignores his training and ethics by telling his clients exactly what he thinks. The result is huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives … including his own.
The Apple TV+ comedy earned positive comments from critics, with review-aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes giving it an 80% approval score. Viewers apparently like it too, because Shrinking enjoys an audience rating of 83%.
Shrinking is available now on Apple’s streaming service. Watching comes with a $6.99-per-month subscription, which gets you plenty of other comedies. Aside from Ted Lasso, the list includes gamer laugh-a-thon Mythic Quest, fantastical musical Schmigadoon!, inventive whodunnit The Afterparty, animated sitcom Central Park and stellar Irish dark comedy Bad Sisters.
