- Compatible with built-in cameras, Continuity Camera and Studio Displays
- Find out how to use Center Stage and other features in macOS Sonoma
Apple’s macOS Sonoma can give you the ability to have your image centered and frame yourself perfectly on video calls. This feature, called Center Stage, is available on devices with a built-in camera, Continuity Camera with an iPhone 12 or later, and Macs with a Studio Display.
To use Center Stage on macOS Sonoma, click on the new menubar icon and either click to turn it on or click the arrow to the right of Center Stage for more options. This may include a choice of cameras, such as Main or Wide Angle.
A key feature of Center Stage is that it adjusts the frame to keep you in view when you move away from the camera. It also gives you the options to have others join you in the shot and the image will automatically adjust to show the best framing.
Although Center Stage is a great feature, it does have some limitations. For example, it can be hidden if you’re using a screen-recording app while on a video conferencing call, and the options to adjust the settings are limited to clicking the menubar icon.
Nonetheless, Center Stage is a great way to present yourself on video calls and it is sure to make your experience more enjoyable.
