- Set up an iPhone automation to create an alarm on its own
Are you always hitting snooze on your iPhone wake-up alarm? Do you sometimes accidentally turn it off instead? If so, you need to know about this iPhone alarm trick. With a few steps in the Shortcuts app, you can set up an iPhone automation to create a backup alarm if you turn off your wake-up alarm. This is a great way to ensure you never miss your morning alarm again.
Start by heading to the Shortcuts app. Tap Automation and then the + sign. Select Personal Automation and then Alarm. Choose Is Stopped and Wake-Up. Next, tap Add Action and then Create Alarm. Customize the time for Create an alarm for and give it a name if you want. Then, tap the Blue Arrow next to the “Alarm” name and select the Never button to choose which days of the week you want this automation to run. Toggle off Ask Before Running and tap Done.
The automation will create another alarm if you turn off your wake-up alarm. It will do nothing if you snooze the wake-up alarm. It’s important to note that you need a wake-up alarm set in the iPhone’s Clock app for this automation to work. Additionally, your alarm’s menu may become flooded with copycat alarms from the automation. Just delete them once in a while.
You can also create multiple additional alarms to trigger when you turn off your wake-up alarm. Additionally, you can set up an iPhone automation to create an alarm on its own. Follow the same steps above, but instead of Alarm, pick Time. Then create an alarm for a few minutes later.
With these automations in place, you should never miss your morning alarm again.
