- Apple released iOS 17 beta 6 with two important changes.
- The controversial “End Call” button has been moved back to the center of the screen.
- A new shortcut has been added to quickly access the Photos picker in Messages.
Apple released iOS 17 beta 6 to developers and public beta testers on Thursday, and it comes with two important changes for a lot of users. The first is an update to the “End Call” button. Since the first beta of iOS 17, Apple had moved the button that was previously centered at the bottom of the screen to the lower right corner of the interface. This caused some confusion and muscle memory issues for users, so with iOS 17 beta 6, the button has been moved back to the center of the screen.
The other important change is related to Messages. With iOS 17, the Messages app is getting a bunch of new features, but the interface was changed in a way that made it harder to access the Camera and Photos button. To address this issue, Apple has added a discreet but great shortcut. If you tap and hold the “+” button, iMessage will automatically show the Photo Picker.
Apple has not yet confirmed the official release date for iOS 17, but rumors suggest it will take place in the third week of September.
