- Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 15 line in three weeks.
- The USB-C charging port is replacing the Lightning charging port.
- The iPhone 15 line may feature braided and color-matched USB-C charging cables.
Apple is expected to announce its upcoming flagship iPhone 15 line in three weeks, and the rumors are already swirling. Not only is the Lightning charging port being replaced by USB-C, but it’s expected that the iPhone 15 line will come with braided and color-matched USB-C charging cables. The cable materials will be white, black, yellow, purple, and orange, plus versions for the Pro models.
The new braided cables will match the Mac accessories and Apple Watch Ultra that Apple already ships with braided cables. The new cables will be a welcome addition to the box, as it wasn’t that long ago that Apple was considering selling the charging cables separately
Adding to the excitement is a rumor that the iPhone 15 Pro Max might actually be the iPhone 15 Ultra. The iPhone Ultra is expected to be an even higher end model than the Pro Max, and will likely include titanium action-buttoned hardware and the braided USB-C cables.
All of these rumors should be settled around August 29 and September 12 when Apple officially announces the iPhone 15 line. Until then, all we can do is creative speculation.
