iPhone 15 Launch Sees Stronger than Expected Sales

  • Investment firm Wedbush reports that sales of the iPhone 15 range are much stronger than the iPhone 14.
  • The iPhone 15 Pro Max in particular is doing exceptionally well in the US, China, India, and parts of Europe.
  • Wedbush estimates 85-90 million units out of the gates.
  • The range is seeing greater demand than predicted and is heavily skewed towards the Pro Max model.

The new iPhone 15 range has seen a much stronger launch than expected, according to investment firm Wedbush. The iPhone 15 Pro Max in particular is doing exceptionally well in the US, China, India, and parts of Europe. Pre-orders are up roughly 10%-12% from the iPhone 14 and the range is heavily skewed towards the Pro Max model. Wedbush estimates between 85-90 million units of the iPhone 15 will be sold out of the gates.

Wedbush believes that the carrier promotions are helping to push sales, as well as a “mini super cycle” of users upgrading from older iPhones. Despite the strong launch, Wedbush is maintaining its $240 target price for Apple and estimates that iPhone units should level out to 225 million units in FY24.
